Sorting games: put things in order
Updated October 31, 2026
Some of the most satisfying trivia games don't ask you for an answer at all. They give you the answers and ask you to put them in order: oldest to newest, cheapest to priciest, shortest to tallest. Close counts, and the reveal is half the fun.
We make Spankle, the first one on the list. The rest are made by other people.
Spankle
Six cards, one line. Put them in order by year, price, height or speed. Half the cards are real trivia and half are weird on purpose, like 10 Danny DeVitos standing on each other's heads or Bob Ross's first TV painting at auction. Lock in and the right ones turn green; four stages a day, from Easy up to Spanked, and every card shows where its number comes from.

Questions
What is a sorting game?
A trivia game where you put items in order by something measurable, like year, price, height or speed, instead of naming an answer.
Is there a daily game where you put events in order?
Yes. Spankle puts six cards in order every day, including by year. Wikitrivia has a daily timeline game, and Sorta orders five items a round.
What is the difference between Spankle and Wikitrivia?
Wikitrivia is all dates from Wikipedia, placed one card at a time. Spankle mixes years, prices, heights and speeds, gives you all six cards at once, and half the cards are deliberately strange.
Are sorting games free?
Every game on this page is free to play in a browser with no account.
